The Bowl season is winding down fast, with two craptastic games being played this weekend preceding the National Championship game on Monday night. This has been a marathon worth of picks and if you’ve stuck with us this far you’ve come out well ahead. We’re looking to close the season on a high note with two sub-par games on tap today and tomorow. Let’s get to it!

SMU vs. Pittsburgh (-3.5)
Jan. 7, 1 PM (ESPN/ESPN3)
The Pitt Panthers had their coach basically walk out on them a few weeks ago to take the Arizona State coaching gig, leaving a bad taste in their mouths. Each team has a stud defensive player in Pitt’s stud linebacker Brandon Lindsey and SMU’s DE Taylor Thompson, and each should have an impact on this game. While both teams have bad losses on their schedule, SMU has an impressive overtime win against TCU, while Pitt is primarily one dimensional with Ray Graham carrying the load on offense. The key is if SMU can stop Graham and force Pitt to pass the ball. With all of the turmoil surrounding the Pitt program and the likelihood of game planning to stop Graham, I’m taking the points and looking for SMU to keep it close.
