Tim Lavallee has several blogging attempts under his belt. Most notably, he is the former author of Boston Crazy Driving, and he is now the Co-Founder of a local news and events site in Wake Forest, North Carolina, known as Destination Wake Forest. The latter bridges the gap between the local newspaper, which recently stopped publishing its content to the Web, and the community at large, which is using the Internet more and more to obtain local information.
Tim and his family moved to the Raleigh, North Carolina area in 2006, after a 10-year, award-winning career in community journalism in Massachusetts. He became an elementary school teacher, and has never looked back. Both were the best moves he ever made. Working with kids has also given him a unique perspective on fatherhood, which comes in handy when trying to understand the needs and wants of his son. Coupled with his offbeat sense of humor, Tim enjoys putting a wistful spin on American fatherhood.
In his spare time (about five minutes on Tuesday evenings), Tim likes to catch up on his DVR, which includes shows like Fringe, House, NCIS, Tyler’s Ultimate, and America’s Test Kitchen. He can also be found in the yard, tending to his small, but green, patch of grass (and cursing the crabgrass).
