David Guarino is a reformed journalist who still loves to write. He spent 12 years in daily newspapering, mostly covering Boston, Massachusetts and national politics. As chief political reporter for The Boston Herald he covered two presidential campaigns, spending time floating around this great American land with McCain, Bush, Gore, Kerry and a bunch of other never-will-bees and had the, ah, pleasure of spending all 36 days in Florida covering the 2000 recount.
Dave got out of newspapers while the getting was good and spent four years in politics, spinning for the Massachusetts Attorney General and then the Massachusetts House of Representatives before joining MS&L in Boston. He’s now a corporate PR guy, strategist, communicator, citizen activist, blogger, social media geek, husband, and, for the last six years, Dad.
His two boys, now 6 and almost 4, keep him active. They have rekindled his love for superheroes, coloring, “Where the Wild Things Are,” Dr. Seuss and cake for breakfast. He’s hoping to ignite in them a passion for music (preferably U2), politics, news, writing, sports and, eventually, beer.
